Obtaining a Library Card - Massachusetts Residents
A library card is available at no charge if you reside in Methuen. Proper identification is required (drivers license, current mail displaying your Methuen address). Patrons living in other Massachusetts towns need to get a card at their hometown library. They will be able to use the Nevins Memorial Library with their hometown library card. Adult cards are available to anyone over the age of 13. Children are invited to obtain cards from the Children's Department. A parent or legal guardian will need to sign for the child and provide proof of residence. All cards may be used in all areas, regardless of the patron's age. Replacement cards $2.00.
Obtaining a Library Card - Out of State Residents
Out of state residents who are teachers in the Methuen school system, town employees who live out of state and out of state property and business owners who pay taxes in Methuen can obtain a free library card for use at the Nevins Memorial Library only. Other out of state patrons must pay an annual consortium fee for an individual MVLC library card. Proper identification and verification is required. Museum passes are available to Methuen residents only, but all other borrowing privledges are provided, including Inter Library Loan.
