Children's Summer Reading Program - Starship Adventure @ Your Library. Program sign-up begins June 22nd at 9:00 am. Come sign up for a wide variety of programs for preschoolers and school-aged children (K - 6th grade) using the library's computers or from an Internet computer at home. Please stop by the Children's Department in person to pick up your FREE activity bagm and for help setting up an online reading log, registering from programs online, and inquiring about the great incentives avaialble to users of our online reading logs this summer. Independent Teen Theater Club! - Calling all Theater freaks, geeks, closet actors, lovers of inappropriate sound effects, masters of the light, curtain pullers extraordinaire, designers of programs and sets, self proclaimed Gods, strong men, lamas, and anyone else who has nothing better to do. We invite you to join the first Nevins Library Independent Theater Club! This program is open to all teens entering grades 9 - 12. Conversation Circle - Join us for a conversation circle on Tuesdays in July and August from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. These sessions are tailor-made for ESOL students and any new English language learners who want to gain confidence in their speaking ability while gaining friends! We will discuss different topics each week and talk about subjects that Circle members choose. Students who have good basic listening and speaking skills (SPL levels 2 and above) are encouraged to attend and enjoy a fun time while at the same time improving their English speaking abilities. Calling all Methuen Poets! - You are welcome to join Grey Court Poets. Membership in this group is open to poets of all levels and styles, as well as fans of poetry who do not write but are interested in literary programs and projects. This group provides a forum where people can learn about poetry, have their writing critiqued, work on poetry reading skills and share resources. Grey Court Poets participates in, and sponsors, readings, workshops and literary festivals in the Methuen area. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month in the Trustee's Room at 7:00 pm. Salem Health - Magill’s Medical Guide covers diseases, disorders, treatments, procedures, specialties, anatomy, biology, and issues in an A-Z format, with sidebars addressing recent developments in medicine and concise information boxes for all diseases and disorders. To access this FREE database, CLICK HERE and then choose the "remote access" link.
