The Library building remains closed.

But, we still have Curbside Services

Please note that during the pick-up portion of these services, per the state guidelines, all parties will need to wear masks and protective gear if they are not under 2 years of age and are physically able. And will be required to be as socially distant as is possible.

Here are the Services we have:

Book Pick-up

Place Your Order

Request material via the catalog on our website (nevinslibrary.org), our app (download MVLC Mobile from your App Store), emailing us (contactcirc@nevinslibrary.org), or calling 978-686-4080 while we’re open for calls (9am-6pm Mon.-Thur., 9am-3pm Fri.)

Wait for notification that your hold is ready for pick up. This will be a phone call or an email.

We’re sorry, but, not all items will be available for pick-up (like the telescope, kits, and other specialty items). We will also be limited to lending only Nevins Library items for some time.

Ready For Pick-up?

Call us at 978-722-2666 to to reserve a pick-up time. Appointments are available Mon.-Thur. 10am-5:45pm, Fri. 10am-2:45pm.

Please understand that we have limited reservation slots, to keep social distancing protocols for everyone’s health and safety.

At Your Reserved Pick-Up Time

Plan to arrive at the library during your reservation time.

Pull through the parking lot, turn around in the upper lot, and park along the building near the ramp entrance. There will be signs to guide you.

Call 978-686-4080 and press 2 for Circulation when you arrive.

Staff will check out your items, bag them, and then bring them to the table located on the ramp. Please retrieve your bag once staff has stepped away.

Don’t have a cell phone or can’t leave your car? Let us know when you make your reservation, and we can accommodate you.

Return Your Borrowed Items in the Book Drop

The book drop is emptied daily – sometimes more than once!

Items coming back into the building will need to spend time waiting “in quarantine” before we can check them in.

Don’t worry – we’ll track when we brought them in the building, and we will check them in with that date!

Printing

We have limited curbside printing available.

You must email the file you need printed to nevinsreference@gmail.com (Please keep in mind that our computers run Microsoft Windows, so, where possible, save the document as something compatible with Office/Windows. That can be anything from a .rtf to a .docx).

In the email you’ll need to provide us with your library card number, as the printing charges will be added to your account. Once these charges are over $5 in total you can pay with a credit or debit card online. Otherwise, you can wait until our building is open to patrons again to pay. (Generally, unless you want us to do quite a bit of printing, you will still be able to put on hold/take out books).

We cannot edit or modify the document for you, and please do not have us print anything that you would consider private or sensitive in nature. The prints will also only be in black and white.

Once we’ve printed it out, we will reply to your email with confirmation that the print job is done. From there it will go quite like how it does when you want to pick up a book.

Notary Service

This service can be made by appointment only.

Please call 978-686-4080 ext. 40 or email us (contactcirc@nevinslibrary.org) for an appointment. If you can, please give us a brief description of what you need notarized. We want to make sure that you don’t come all the way here and find we can’t notarize your document.

Please come with everything ready. You’ll need whatever you want notarized, as well as a picture ID. Please do NOT sign anything until you are in the notary’s presence. We will have pens, but, please feel free to bring your own from home for when you sign the documents. And, as with all our curbside services. As per the state guidelines, all parties will need to wear masks and protective gear if they are able.

The notarization will either be done at the picnic table by the large tree, or, in case of inclement weather at the curbside pick-up table.
