2023 Spring Reading Challenge

Are you ready to Spring Into Reading? Dare to read 20 minutes a day every day from April 1 until spring ends on June 20! All ages from 0-18 are welcome to participate in this Youth Services challenge!

How to Participate

Come visit us at the Children’s Desk to register, get a starter kit, and start growing your garden. When you join the challenge, you will receive the stem and center of your first flower.

For every 20 minutes that you read, you earn a petal. To get that petal, you can come to Children’s Desk and pick out your favorite color, then add the petal to your flower. If you want, you can even write the name of the book you were reading on your petal. When you finish one flower, start another and see how many springtime blossoms your garden can grow!

You can read any book you want for the challenge (or have those books read to you!) — audiobooks, graphic novels, eBooks, magazines, and more, all count! If you would like to try some of our recommended springtime reads, check out our Spring into Reading booklist.

You can also log your time on our Beanstack page to keep track of your reading progress and earn fun, spring-themed badges along the way.

If you have used Beanstack previously, just login with the same username/password you did before. If you’ve never used Beanstack, register online by following the prompts at the Nevins Library Beanstack.org page.

Need help getting started in Beanstack? You’ll find the Beanstack Instructions here.
