2023 Winter Reading Challenge

From February 6 to March 18, the Youth Services Department will participate in Beanstack’s Iditaread Challenge (Ages 5-18).

Follow the Iditarod Trail Sled Race from Anchorage to Nome by logging one minute for every mile of the race.

The Challenges

  • Reach a personal goal of 1000 minutes
  • Earn badges for every 100 minutes you read.

How to Participate

It’s easy to sign up and start logging minutes – if you have used Beanstack previously, just login with the same username/password you did before. If you’ve never used Beanstack, register online by following the prompts at the Nevins Library Beanstack.org page.

You can also use the Beanstack Tracker app for Android and iOS devices on your phone (download the app by searching for “Beanstack Tracker” in the App Store or Google Play).  You can us it to add books to your log by scanning ISBN barcodes, and time your reading sessions with their clock and then record your minutes.
