About the Friends

The Friends of the Nevins Library is a group of individuals committed to the support of the Library and its staff—fundraising to provide programs and services not otherwise available. While many activities and collections are funded through the City and State budgets, often there are other important programs that enrich the Library’s holdings that the Friends are able to provide, such as museum passes and summer reading activities. In addition, the Friends provide a free subscription to a book review publication, Book Page, to all patrons.

The Friends do many activities throughout the year including book sale, baseball outings, book fairs at Barnes & Noble, and other fundraising events. There are many opportunities to become involved in the group and to enjoy the rewards of giving to your community.

As a special benefit for becoming a Friend, the Library will waive fines for overdue material four times during the calendar year.
