Designed to engage young readers, our fun, friendly activities are happening almost daily. Check out our current events below, and register for the ones that work for your family.

What Is? Who Is?
(Ages 7-8)

Do you love the Who Is/What Is series of non-fiction books? Each month we’ll talk about selections from the series, as well as related reading. Participants will also receive fun collateral material about the subject. Please register online. New members are welcome! For any questions please call the Children’s Department at 978-686-4080 ext. 26.

Book Chatters
(4th to 6th Grade)

Do you love to read books and like
to talk about them? Each month we meet to discuss the same story, or sometimes share a favorite book we have recently read. Please complete reading the book for our monthly meeting. Snacks and a drink are provided at each meeting. If you need a copy of the book to read, call the Children’s Department at 978-686-4080 ext. 26. Please register online. New members are welcome!

Donuts with Dad
(3 to 6 Years Old)

Children ages 3 to 6 and their fathers, grandfathers, or uncles are invited
to join us for a fun story and activity time. Enjoy an added bonus of sweet, yummy donuts and juice! Please register online.

Fun with Bee-Bots
(1st and 2nd Grade)

Blend reading with computer programming! We start by reading a story. Then our Bee-Bots are programmed to go on a trip related to that story. We offer a new story each month. Spaces are limited. New members are welcome—please register online.

K’NEX Club
(4th to 6th Grade)

If you are a fan of building things, try the K’NEX Club. Each month has a new building challenge. While working in a small group, you bring your creativity to bear and use the steps in the engineering design process to complete the challenge. New members are always welcome— please register online.

LEGO Block Party
(K to 4th Grade)

Bring your imagination and have fun creating things. The library supplies lots and lots of blocks to build with. Each month, everyone can participate in a 10-minute challenge and then spend the rest of the time in free choice building. Pictures will be taken to show off your structures. Sensory Storytime
(4 Years Old and Up)

This storytime is designed for children ages 3 and up with autism spectrum disorders, sensory integration issues, other developmental disabilities, and their typically developing peers. If your child has difficulty sitting through one of our other storytimes, this program of stories, songs, and activities might be just what you are looking for.

Come for the half-hour program and then stay for the 15-minute family socializing time. Also, feel free to have your child bring a comfort or transitional item with them.

For more information please contact the Children’s Room at 978-686-4080 ext. 26.

To prepare for your visit we have a Social Story that can help pre-teach what the structure and routine of a library experience will be like:
