About Children’s Programs

The Children’s Department of the Nevins Library has a wide range of program offerings for children in Pre-K to 6th grade. Designed to engage young readers, our fun, friendly activities are happening almost daily. Check out our current events below, and register for the ones that work for your family.

Books & Bubbles (Ages Infant-18 Mo.)

What do little ones love? Books! What else do they love? Bubbles! This language-enrichment program features fun songs and fingerplays, stories, and everyone’s favorite finale: bubbles.

No registration is required, and big brothers and sisters can also attend.

Science Storytime (Ages 3-6)
This program uses hands-on activities and children’s picture books to show kids how fun and intriguing science can be.

Bilingual Storytime (Ages 3-6)
Come join us for stories, songs, crafts and much more! And while you’re here, you can browse and check out books from our collection in Spanish.

Family Storytime (Ages 3-8)
Wrap up your day with your children at this evening storytime, where they will listen to stories and make a craft.

Saturday Stories (Ages 3-8)
Kick off your weekend with stories and a craft!

Donuts with Dad (Ages 3-8)

Children and their fathers, grandfathers, or uncles are invited to this tasty storytime – not only to listen stories and make a craft, but also to enjoy donuts!

Junior Craft Club (Ages 5-8)
Geared towards younger children, who will work on a fun creation to take home.

Craft Club (Ages 9-11)
Geared towards older children, where every session features a different craft to make and take home.

“I Survived” Book Club (Ages 7-9)

Kids will talk about selections from the popular “I Survived” series, which tell stories of kids experiencing famous historical events.

Story Crime Book Club (Ages 9-11)

A book club for kids who like mysteries!

Game On! (Ages 10-15)

Jointly offered by the Children’s and the Teens’ departments, this fun afternoon program gives kids a chance to hang out together and try their hands at different games.
