Interlibrary Loans

Don’t see what you need here in our stacks?

Patrons of the Nevins Library have access to the entire state of Massachusetts library network and beyond. Click below to broaden your search:

Local Search

Search for books at the Nevins Library that may have a hold list or any other of our local partner libraries in the Merrimack Valley. You can then use your library card to request that the item be sent to the Nevins Library for you to pick up.
Search the MVLC Catalog

Statewide Search

If you still can’t find the book, you can search for books and media throughout the rest of the Massachusetts via the Commonwealth Catalog. Once on hold, these books will also be sent to the Nevins Library for you to pick up.

Widen Your Search with Our Reference Department
Still can’t find what you need? Check with our Reference Department. We are happy to search catalogs throughout most of the United States. Methuen residents can take advantage of this service five times per year at no charge. Each loan beyond this limit costs $5. Nonresidents are charged the $5 for any requests. (It may also take longer for these items to come in).

Can’t make it to the library? Fill out the form below and we will search for the item you need and request it for you if we can. The Interlibrary Loan form below is for physical items like books, DVDs, etc. If you need a magazine or journal article, please use Request an Article form.

Please note that some items can be harder to get through interlibrary loan, such as new items (less than 6 months old), textbooks, some CDs/DVDs/BluRays, or Reference/Local History items.

And, as always, if you have any questions about how to request an item or article, or the status of your request, email us or call us at 978-686-4080 x12.
